At 12:58 yesterday, Calvert ALS was dispatched to a serious automobile accident reported at the intersection of Bayside Road and Ponds Wood Road, with initial reports indicating that one person may be trapped.
Medic 102 and Chief 10B responded to the initial call. Upon arrival, first responders confirmed that one individual was trapped inside a vehicle and that there were four patients involved in total.
Medic 102 and Ambulance 68 began immediate medical care for the person trapped in the vehicle. When Chief 10B arrived on scene, assistance was provided with assessing and triaging the remaining patients, coordinating their care and transportation with incoming units.
Of the four patients, three were transported to a regional trauma center for further treatment, while the fourth patient was taken to a local hospital.
