On Saturday, July 12, at approximately 1:30 p.m., CALS was dispatched to a working house fire in Solomons, responding to support firefighters operating in high-heat conditions.
UT10 (Chief 10A McKeever) and M105 (PMIC March) responded and staged upon arrival until REHAB7 arrived on scene. CALS personnel, along with PA203, assisted in setting up the REHAB area and provided medical support to firefighters engaged in suppression and overhaul efforts.
With a heat index exceeding 101°F, the primary concern was overexertion and heat-related injuries. CALS triaged, treated, and monitored firefighters to ensure their safety and operational readiness. Units remained on scene for approximately three hours before returning to service.
