M105, CHF10, EMS20D, PA204 all marked up on the call, CHF10 and M105 arrived on scene in under 5 mins and met with the occupants of the structure to confirm no one was trapped in the home. Homeowners confirmed that all occupants were out of the home but the family dog was still inside. A few minutes later firefighters located the dog, unresponsive and not breathing. The dog was handed of to a crew member from M105 who brought the dog out to the front yard. CHF10, M105, PA204 worked tirelessly using all the skills they had been taught in the K9 emergency care course to save the family pet. Bystanders happen to include a Vet tech from the Linda Kelly animal shelter who took over K9 compressions as well as 2 members of Calvert Co parks and Rec's who worked tirelessly with ALS providers rotating through k9 CPR. Even though advanced level medical interventions were performed on the dog unfortunately the dog succumbed to their injuries. Calvert County Animal Control was on scene to assist the family.
