At noon today units from CALS, Huntingtown, North Beach, Prince Frederick Fire Department were alerted for an accident reported serious on Plum Point Rd. Responding units were quickly updated reporting head-on with two subjects trapped. With the update of two subjects trapped trapped and unconscious CHF10, Car10 (PMIC Myers) added themselves to the call with Command 10 (PMIC Hiepler) and M103 (PMIC Youngblood) already responding. CMD10 arrived on scene first and immediately triaged both patients and took the most serious. CHF10 arrived second and took over care for the second patient. Crews from E6 and Sqd2 worked feveriously to extricate both patients and turn them over to waiting medics. M103 arrived and assisted Capt. Hiepler as his patient was a trauma code, their patient was packaged and transported pri-1 to CMH with CPR in progress. CHF10 along with the crew from A68 worked on the second patient and transported pri-1 to the LZ. While at the LZ with MSP Trooper 2 the second patient went into trauma arrest and was ground transported to CMH with CHF10, and the crew from Trooper 2. Sadly both patients sucumbed to their injuries at CMH. CALS sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends affected by this tragedy.
